The SETA Grant Regulations promulgated in December 2012 are intended to improve planning, eliminate wasteful expenditure and the unnecessary build-up of reserves, and speed up payments to those receiving grants.
The CHIETA Discretionary Grant is available for employers/enterprises within the chemical sector and is aimed at addressing the scarce and critical skills needs identified through the CHIETA Sector Skills Plan.
The development of our Discretionary Grants Management System (DGMS) which is designed to facilitate online application and payment modules for the management of the CHIETA’s Discretionary Grants is now complete.The system will be open from 1st to 31st March 2020 for stakeholders to use in order to complete the Discretionary Grant application process.

As per our last communique, dated 16 August 2019, we indicated that the CHIETA is currently in the process of transitioning from its old MIS system, which was outsourced, to an in-house MIS system that is currently in its development phase.
