Dear Valued Stakeholders,
We are writing to inform you of a temporary suspension of Mandatory Grants (MG) payments due to challenges experienced by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) with their Skills Development Levies Information System (SDLIS), as outlined in Circular No. 16/2024, dated 25 November 2024.
These technical difficulties have resulted in DHET being unable to send the necessary employer files to Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs). Without these files, SETAs are unable to process and pay the Mandatory Grants.
The DHET is fully aware of the inconvenience caused by this situation and is working diligently to resolve the issue. However, at this stage, no specific timeline has been provided for when the system will be fully functional.
We deeply regret the impact this has on your planning and operations. We value your commitment to skills development and assure you that we are in ongoing communication with DHET to monitor progress. We will provide updates as soon as further information becomes available.
